Field Engineer

GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971 working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in the oPt dates back to the year 1990 and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects financed by International Donors mainly in WASH and FOOD SECURITY sectors.

In this framework GVC is actually recruiting two persons to cover the position of:
Field Engineer for Hebron Office, Code: GVC-HS-Hebron
Field Engineer for Tulkarem Office, Code: GVC-AS-Tulkarem

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Follow up the daily field works, including supervising the works implemented either by people or contractors.
-Filling registers and forms according to the project procedures and guidelines.
-Designing, modelling, drawing and preparing tender documents for different activities including water and sanitation utilities, human and animal shelters.
-Preparation of work plan, risk analysis and mitigation measures.
-Helping in new projects identification, including field survey work, cost estimation, drafting concepts, indicators and maps.
-Communicating the stakeholders effectively, including ministries, institutions, counterparts, beneficiaries, CBOs and others.
-Participating in projects pre and post monitoring and evaluation, indicators verification, and achieving the project’s objectives and goals.
-Reporting and bookkeeping for all correspondences and related documents.
-Activities cost control, forecasting, quantity survey and keep update with market prices and fluctuation.

QUALIFICATIONS
-BSc. Civil engineering from accredited university with 2 years proven experience in filed works and liaison with local communities and beneficiaries.
-Knowledge of contract conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and surveying instruments.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals, guidelines, procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
-Professional knowledge in MS office, AutoCad, MS Project, water and wastewater modelling software, GIS knowledge is a plus.
-Valid driving license

-Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines, team work and under pressure
-Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and resolutions.
-Demonstrate self-motivation,self-learning, management, sense of responsibility ,leadership, communication and coordination
-Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing both in Arabic and English languages.
-Ability to work independently.
-Humanitarian motivation

Duty Station: Hebron and Tulkarem with frequent field visit to other districts.
Contract duration: 3 months with possible extension
