Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent Organization, founded in Middle governorate - Gaza Strip in 2000. POD works toward social-economic development to perform positive changes in the human life.
Project Overview:
In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), POD is implementing a project that provides rapid and responsive multi-purpose cash, food assistance, shelter and settlements (S&S), water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and protection support to conflict-affected communities in Gaza. The project’s goal is to ensure that conflict-affected households in Gaza meet their immediate needs and strengthen their capacity to shocks. Given the rapidly evolving emergency and changing security environment, a flexible approach is envisioned to be continually adapted in response to field conditions. The project’s objectives are:
- Conflict-affected households meet their basic needs, including food.
- Conflict-affected households live in safe and dignified shelters with access to shelter and WASH services.
- Conflict-affected households have improved wellbeing through psychosocial support activities.
POD is looking for candidates for the following position - Field Monitor
Title: Field Monitor - Part-Time.
Duration: 3 months
Targeted Area: Middle Area and Khan Younis and Rafah, and subject to change changed security context.
Reports to: Project Coordinator.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Collect the necessary data to implement project activities, identify needs in coordination with the project coordinator.
- Responsible for supervising, monitoring, and tracking project activities in areas assigned by the Project Coordinator.
- Explain and communicate the project concept to targeted local communities through direct engagement.
- Participate in field-level satisfaction and feedback meetings, input data electronically, and submit reports to the Project Coordinator.
- Conduct regular field visits to project beneficiaries.
- Contribute to identifying potential challenges in fieldwork and propose mitigation strategies.
- Contact beneficiaries by phone or conduct field visits to verify their data when necessary.
- Document all stages of the project.
- Carry out any other tasks or duties assigned by the Project Coordinator throughout the project period.
- Execute tasks assigned by the lead team and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) related to the implementation of project activities.

Qualification and Experience:
- University degree in international development, Engineering, business administration, economics, sociology, or related field.
- Minimum two years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of development, Significant experience working on humanitarian assistance, Shelter & WASH projects required.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop progress reports.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in a multicultural, team-oriented environment.
- Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
- Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding principles and approaches, as well as principles of do no harm and confidentiality.
