Payment: $1,200.00 USD per video, including transportation costs
The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) brings internationals to the West Bank to experience life under occupation. Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) provide a protective presence to vulnerable communities, monitor and report human rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis working together for peace. When they return home, EAs campaign for a just and peaceful resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict through an end to the occupation, respect for international law and implementation of UN resolutions.
As part of a UNICEF-funded project, EAPPI is developing an online portal for advocacy resources focusing on Palestinian schoolchildren’s access to education. The portal would include: case studies, photographs, quotes, info-graphs, reports, factsheets and videos.
In view of this, EAPPI is seeking a film producer / videographer to produce 8 short (5-minute) educational videos, highlighting the situation at different schools in the West Bank and the various types of restrictions on access to education (i.e. checkpoints, settler violence, Area C / demotions, etc.).
Responsibilities:
-Work with EAPPI staff to develop video outlines / concepts.
-Travel to various schools throughout the West Bank to compile content and conduct interviews with headmasters, teachers, students, parents, Ecumenical Accompaniers, and various officials.
-Edit video content in accordance with EAPPI Communications guidelines and guidance of EAPPI’s Communications Officer
Criteria & Qualifications:
-Knowledge of and affinity with vision and mandate of EAPPI
-Access to and proficiency in using: high definition video cameras, wireless microphones, and video editing software.
-Fluency (both written and oral) in English and Arabic is mandatory. Knowledge of Hebrew is an Advantage.
-Knowledge of international law and humanitarian principles as they apply to Palestine and Israel.
-Ability to travel extensively throughout the West Bank.
-Good communications and interpersonal skills.
-Self-motivated, proactive and organized.
-Ability to strictly observe given deadlines.
-Sensitive to local culture and traditions.
