Finance Manager
Summary:

The constant stimulation of financial management and analysis tools and questions providing consult and guidance to managing growth, new investments, and meeting business partners and financing institutions needs and requirements. Passion for social investment, fair trade, sustainable business, and Palestinian small-holder artisan producers is required. This leadership position reports to the Director of Canaan Fair Trade providing financial control, reporting, analysis, and consult to the company’s management.
The individual will carry out a diverse range of financial management activities for Canaan in a highly independent manner documenting, recording, and controlling financial and value flow and organizing, assessing, analyzing, and reporting the financial analysis to the company’s management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other comparable duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed:
-Bookkeeping and management of all financial records including account receivable, Accounts payable, inventory and purchasing control, product assemblies, and product value flow.
-Provide financial planning, budgeting, and management of all company activities towards meeting company’s financial objectives.
-Manage and control company’ daily cash flow.
-Develop procedures and financial management tools and oversee their implementation by financial staff and other departments.
-Supervise, train, and lead financial staff.
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
-Prepare cash flow, Income statements, and balance sheet projections and forecastannually and long term 5 years projections.
-Prepare company financial profile and presentations to financing institutions and company’s management.
-Coordinate with company’s various departments to meet company’s financial objectives.
-Develop, implement, monitor, and track financial tools to ensure financial control and progress of a rapidly growing company.
-Actively participate in company’s strategic planning and provide consult and analysis that would guide company’s growth from a financial perspective.
-Prepare for companies operations financial needs by planning and managing loans from local and international financial institutions and maintaining their loan monitoring tools and manage repayments.
-Manage company’s internal audits, and spot checks and all external audits.
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with, Canaan Director, all departments managements, international business partners and distributors, financial institutions, and official auditing agencies. .
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will have managerial oversight over financial staff and guidance to managements of other departments.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the finance, accounting, international business, business administration, or related discipline that would support the knowledge, abilities and skill sets required to perform the full range of job responsibilities listed, plus 5 years experience in accounting and financial management performing the types of duties listed above.
Preferred: Possession of a Master's degree as stated above plus 7 or more years experience in the financial field performing the types of duties outlined above.
Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Must be highly reliable, responsive to time sensitive work assignments, goal oriented, results driven, creative in manner and delivery, affable and self-motivated.
-Work with spirit of enthusiasm, teamwork, cooperation and a sense of urgency.
-Maintain a high degree of confidentiality over all matters in the course of business operations including customer and employee information, operational plans, trade secrets and other confidentially intended information and documents.
-Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner; to work quickly, accurately and independently; and to anticipate needs and solve problems.
-Good working knowledge and intermediate/advanced use of Quickbooks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver's license including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage.
