Abraham’s House is a large guest house (140 beds) which welcomes pilgrims of all faiths in Jerusalem. Founded by Secours Catholique / Caritas France (SCCF), this Guest House sits on a hill with magnificent views of the old City and gives priority to those of modest means. It is ran by a multicultural team of employees, Sisters and volunteers. The annual budget is € 1 million.
The main responsibilities and tasks of the Finance and Admin Officer are:
Responsible for accountings, bank and cash forecast and tax payment
-Enter all the accounting and financial information in the SCCF accounting software
-Monitor all the bank accounts and transactions, undertake all bank operations and monthly reconciliations and give recommendations to the Director
-Prepare relevant bank and cash forecasts and prepare transfer requests
-Prepare all the receipts and payments, record all transactions on a daily basis and fill all associated paperwork associated with such transactions
-Ensure that monthly tax and other obligations are paid to the local Authorities
-Supervise cashboxes
-Participate in inventories
-Keep up an efficient and modern accounting department with all updated and analyzed data
Responsible for budget management, cost monitoring and payrolls
-Elaborate the budget on a yearly basis with the Director and budget follow up on a monthly basis
-Assist the Director in analyzing financial reports
-Monitor all the costs and propose solutions
-Ensure financial statement according to the quarterly closure schedule
-Prepare monthly payrolls and related expenses of taxes and insurances
-Prepare monthly allowances for other personnel
-Manage all the insurances with the suppliers
-Ensure equipment monitoring
-Assist in case of audit and implement related finance and accounting recommendations
Contribute to the hotel management and administrative management of the groups
-Address and register booking requests
-Register deposits, establish invoices and register payments
-Prepare groups invoices for SCCF groups
-Print all available reports to optimize House occupancy and effective staff work organization (room inventory, occupancy rates, meals forecast, reservations chart….)
Suggest improvements of Admin policies, Standards and Procedures and perform other duties as assigned by the Director
Qualifications and competencies:
-University degree in relevant areas of the position
-At least 3 year experience in accountings/ administration
-Very good command of Arabic and English, both spoken and written; any additional language ( e.g Hebrew or French) is an asset;
-Proven knowledge of computerized systems, accounting packages and spreadsheets
-Previous experience with a multi-cultural organization and/or hotel will be an advantage
-Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
