Financial Assistant
 
Organization Description: 
 
Small Enterprise Center (SEC) Association is a Palestinian non-profit organization that was founded in 2002. In 2008, SEC was officially registered as an independent non-profit organization governed by the Palestinian Law of Charitable Associations and Community Organizations No.1 for the year 2000. SEC is a leading national organization serving Palestinian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and social enterprises (including cooperatives) over Palestine where Gaza Office has started provision of business development services for SMEs since 2011.
SEC with the support from the GIZ–PALM (Programme for Access to the Labour Market) and GIZ-PSDP (Private Sector Development Programme) is implementing a 9-month program entitled “ Tourism Sector: Supporting the employment and re-hiring of tourism male and female (18 to 35 years old) workers with wage subsidies in the tourism sector in West Bank and East-Jerusalem. 
The wage subsidy duration is 5 months: 100% for the 1st to the 3rd month (basis is the Palestinian minimum wage in West Bank) and 50% of the Palestinian minimum wage for the 4th and 5th months.
 
Position: Financial Assistant 
Work location: West Bank
Type of contract:  Short-Term Employment (9-month contract) 
Number of staff required: 1 person 
Expected starting date: July, 1, 2021. 
     
Job Description:
The Financial Assistant will support the Financial of in a financial deperatment ficer for the day-to-day tasks with participants in the program (participant in the self learning online platform and copmanies benefitng form the wage subsidy ) to preper necessarily decuments and help in filling system. 
 
Job tasks and Duties include: 
  • Communicating with the project beneficiaries and preparing a list that includes the names and bank account information and entering them into the accounting system
  • Follow up the balance sheet of the beneficiaries of the project.
  • Enter the financial data into the system permanently and follow up on the payments made to the beneficiaries
  • Preparing contracts with the companies benefiting from the project
  • Preparation of Payments - Financial Compensation to Beneficiaries: Training for Employment Component 1,150 Beneficiaries
  • Preparing the monthly wage subsidy payment for 150 beneficiaries
  • Preparing wage subsidy for two months for the same 150 beneficiaries
  • Manage and secure full documentation of payments and contract file.
  • Coordination with the project advisor about payments and names of beneficiaries
  • Follow-up communication with the beneficiaries of the project and bring all the documents necessary to secure their monthly payments

Job requirements of an Excellent Candidate:
  • At least one-year experience within the finance department of a national or international organization.
  • Strong experience of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Experience in contracting procedure.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, documentation & filing skills.
  • Good knowledge in written and verbal in English and Arabic.
  • Understanding of financial systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with computerized   accounting systems.
  • Experience  of  computerized  accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
