Background: The Union of Charitable Societies is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental body; it was founded in Jerusalem in 1958. UCS is an umbrella for 209 non-governmental organizations who have enjoying a full membership in it. These NGOs located in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah and Jericho where they provide different developmental and social community services for underprivileged and vulnerable areas and groups.
The Union of Charitable Societies –Jerusalem (UCS) invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the following post:
Job Title : Financial Manager
Accountable to : Director-General
Location : Jerusalem
Closing Date : Sunday October 25, 2009
Position Code : FM/1
Employer Responsibilities and Duties:
-Providing and interpreting financial information.
-Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
-Analyzing change and advising accordingly.
-Formulating strategic and long-term financial plans.
-Researching and reporting on factors influencing the Union performance.
-Responsible for bookkeeping and auditing of financial recorders.
-Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.
-Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
-Participating in procurement and tendering activities.
-Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
-Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory.
-Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
-Managing budgets.
-Supervising staff of the financial departments.
-Analyzing and evaluating the annual financial reports of (UCS) member societies.
-Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
-Contribute in arranging new sources of finance and fundraising.
Qualifications:
-A bachelor›s degree in finance, accounting, economics.
-5 years experience in related field.
-Coping with the advancements in the field of Financial Management.
-Creative, innovative, decision making, containing others, communication and other public relations skills, energetic.
-Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English.
-Comfortable with the latest computer technology.
-Good experience in project management.
-Familiar with stakeholder, and good experience in international cooperation.
-Be creative thinkers and problem-solvers.
-Knowledge of international finance.
