Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Project Officer

For eight months commencing upon signature of the project contract

The Candidate will:
-Participate in information gathering from other NGOs, institutions, ministries, and local partners about the FSL situation in West Bank Governorates.
-Facilitate introductory meetings to be held with the community, village councils, local committees, cooperatives and project personnel, and act as translator as necessary.
-Participate in the design and implementation of food security assessments and project identification studies.
-Define vulnerability characteristics, identify the needs of the most vulnerable populations and propose responses to these needs.
-Participate in the design of food security project proposal in collaboration and coordination with FSL program manager.
-Liaise with local partners’ staff and Ministry of Agriculture staff for the coordination and execution of activities, and follow up their reports.
-Contribute to the planning, preparations, and undertaking of various procurement activities.
-Ensure the efficient delivery of project’s outputs (results).
-Monitor projects through periodic visits and provide relevant professional advice to the FSL program manager as appropriate.
-Collect the baseline endline data for monitoring of results and objectives indicators using different sources of data.
-Prepare the project’s first draft report in accordance with donor requirement.
-Ensure field work complies with project timeframe and identification of challenges and propose timely corrective actions and alternatives.

Profile of the Candidate:
-Degree in agriculture or related field
-Minimum 4 years of relevant experience preferably development and/or resilience projects.
-Excellent knowledge of agricultural context in the West Bank.
-General understanding and/or technical expertise in the land reclamation and farming sector.
-Motivation and commitment to humanitarian work and values
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
-Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
-Excellent knowledge Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
-Valid driving licence and proven driving skills.
-Ability to travel in West Bank and stay overnight
