Job Opportunities with Oxfam in Gaza

Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries as part of a global movement for change. Oxfam has been present in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel (OPTI) since the 1950s, and established a country office in the 1980s. We work with the most vulnerable communities in the occupied Palestinian Territory.

Food Security Assistant– 12 months fixed-term contract (2 positions)
5 days a week (100% position)
Base: Gaza

We are looking for Food Security Assistant to contribute to the monitoring of work in the field, follow up work progress with partners in addition to supporting daily implementation for Food Security Program. This position is on fixed term contract and based in Gaza.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates the following skills:
-Minimum 2-3 years Proven expertise NGO/INGO
-Proven field experience in community-based food, nutrition and livelihoods programmes in humanitarian and development programmes, preferably with non-governmental organisations
-Experience and/or understanding of food security and livelihood related issues in humanitarian and development contexts
-Commitment to the integration of gender and diversity in all aspects of Oxfam’s work
-Good assessment, analytical and monitoring skills
-Experience in working closely with stakeholders throughout a programme cycle
-Excellent interpersonal and team skills, with a good level of self-awareness. and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds
-Very Good command over written and spoken English and Arabic
-Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
-Excellent skills in using MS Office
-Commitment to the beliefs, aims and objectives of Oxfam
-A proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations and be able to multi task
-Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam and commitment to humanitarian principles and action and a commitment to Oxfam’s equal opportunity and gender policies
