Job Description & Specifications

Title: Gaza Oversight Coordinator Reports to: Construction Manager.
Location: Ramallah with frequent visits to Gaza

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in close coordination with management and technical staff, and under the direction of the Managing Partners, the Construction Manager will be responsible for projects coordination in Gaza. This position is based in AECOM’s office in Ramallah.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

-Monitor construction projects from conception to completion.
-Liaising with clients, governmental agencies and local authorities.
-Monitor compliance of the construction projects with USAID building and safety regulations.
-Monitor contractual conditions of performance.
-Reviewing correspondences with USAID and the contractor.
-Reviewing technical and other project related reports.
-Review the work progress and monthly reports.
-Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
-Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.


QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

-Minimum 15 years of demonstrable experience of successful achievement of construction management services for water and wastewater systems.
-Project management experience across a range of disciplines, contract/procurement.
-Experience managing and leading project teams to successful outcomes;
-Good client and stakeholder relationship building skills;
-Effective communication with client’s project team.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels and functions within the company;

LANGUAGES:
Fluent in Arabic, excellent English speaking and writing skills.
