Position: GBV Officer

Reporting into: GBV Programme Lead - Gaza

Type: Fixed Term, Full-time, 35 hours per week

Location: Gaza, South

Salary:ILS 107,700

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Lebanon.

The GBV Officer works as part of MAP’s Protection Team under the direct supervision of the GBV and Women’s Empowerment Lead and with the guidance and support of the Head of Protection. The role is based initially in the south of Gaza with very regular field visits across Khan Younis and Deir el Balah (initially). The postholder will work with local partners to deliver survivor-centered GBV projects, oversee and monitor implementation, and identify solutions to challenges as they arise.

MAP is seeking a passionate individual who can provide support to implementing partners who are providing case for high-risk GBV survivors. Work with stakeholders to strengthen referral networks and monitor the implementation of the referral pathways to improve survivors’ access to safe and confidential services in a timely manner to meet their needs. An individual who In collaboration with the GBV programme lead, can ensure adherence to GBV Minimum Standards across all GBV projects. Monitor and report on the implementation of projects with partners including financial and narrative reporting, making very frequent visits to partners and field locations. An individual that can Coordinate with other Programmes and departments to ensure the effective use of logistical and financial resources.
