Gender Based Violence (GBV) Specialist
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. . World Vision -JWG – West Bank/West Ramallah Area Development Programs (WR-ADP) has received a grant from WV Australia to implement the Regional Gender project which is a regional project that is implemented in four countries in Middle East and East Europe (MEER) region, among which is Palestine.
Duties and Responsibilities of the GBV Specialist:
1-Regular capacity building and follow up meetings for youth 14-24 years.
2-Support youth competitive initiatives to address gender- based peer to peer violence and conduct campaigns in the targeted villages based on selected initiatives.
3-Conduct TOT training for group of youth aged 14-24 years.
4-Conduct TOT training on GBV for school counselors.
5-Facilitate consultation and joint meetings between youth groups and key actors.
6-Organize meetings for groups of youth to develop joint initiatives on GBV.
7-Conduct awareness activities for youth on the legal, psychosocial and health dimensions of GBV.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in social sciences, community development, education, gender or related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
-At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian and development settings, including experience in managing or coordinating gender based violence related events.
-Knowledge of development operations and roles/responsibilities of development actors and Knowledge of GBV related issues.
-Excellent knowledge of development issues in Palestine, especially gender related issue.
-Demonstrated experience in designing community development interventions.
-Excellent experience in conducting TOTs.
-Excellent experience in facilitating training courses.
-Experience working in rural development settings.
-Excellent communication skills, fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
-Good computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
-Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in English Language
