Gender Consultant

ACT alliance would like to engage a Consultant with Gender expertise to carry out a number of tasks needed to implement the Gender Justice MENA community of Practice work plan. The core objectives for the 2022 gender work in the region are:

• To complement and strengthen the collaboration between ACT members and forums working for Gender justice in the region(with joint contextualized messaging, trainings and shared knowledges),
• To increase the technical capacity of members to create and implement gender responsive programs with focus in 2022 on security, humanitarianism and policies
• to create a safe space for sharing and learning within the region on gender justice.
• To support ACT forums in the region on gender justice thematic issues in the region.

• Experience and/or strong understanding of feminist organising and a strong background in social justice movements.
• Experience and/or strong understanding of gender sensitivities in the MENA region
• Master in gender studies or in a related field of study or equivalent relevant experience, with experience in different countries in the MENA region an advantage.
• Fluent English, fluency in Arabic is preferred
• Highly organised with excellent working relationships
• Very good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in developing capacity training materials and conduct trinings, in person and online
• proficiency in microsoft office
• Ability to sign ACT Alliance code of conduct/
