General Coordinator
PNGO Net is currently seeking to fill the position of General Coordinator, to be based at its Ramallah Office
Background:
The Palestinian NGO Network is a civil and democratic body, which seeks to support, consolidate, and strengthen the Palestinian civil society on the basis of the principles of democracy, social justice rule of law, respect for human rights and sustainable development. It strives for the attainment of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people. It is a Palestinian NGO umbrella organization comprising 130 member organizations working in different developmental fields. PNGO’s main function is to reinforce the role played by NGOs through contributing to the development and empowerment of civil society. Also, PNGO works to influence decision-makers to create laws, legislation, and policies that are conducive to better serve the Palestinian people.
Job Purpose:
The General Coordinator will work closely with PNGO Steering Committee, and will be responsible
for the development and implementation of PNGO programs, management of PNGO office and staff
, fundraising, and networking with partners and member organizations.
Major Duties:
-Liaise with relevant national and international institutions and present PNGO in different national and international conferences.
-Co-ordinate the implementation of activities through regular contacts with partners, member
organizations and other organizations and institutions; and promote regular exchange of information of activities and events.
-Manage PNGO programs and coordinate PNGO steering committee and general assembly meetings.
-Manage the communication with PNGO members, partners and the Steering Committee.
-Coordinate with PNGO office in Gaza
- Maintain & Develop partnerships with different stakeholders including: the civil society organizations, UN agencies, government institutions and donors.
-Supervise and manage PNGO office and staff .
- Prepare PNGO’s periodical, semiannual, and annual narrative reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Development, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or other related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with non-governmental structures, and or
international agencies in advocacy, project management or programs development. Knowledge
The candidates must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
-Knowledge, awareness and understanding of the Palestinian context..
-Good knowledge of the NGOs sector.

-Demonstrates integrity by modeling the PNGO’s values and ethical standards
-Promotes the vision and mission of PNGO.
-Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.
-Flexibility, ability to take initiatives and make decisions.
-Readiness to work within a team.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to ensure and facilitate the coordination and collaboration of diverse stakeholder groups and possess strong managerial experience.
-Good fundraising and proposal writing skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both Arabic & English.
-Good knowledge of project cycle management.
-Professional knowledge in office administration and management
-Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, and negotiation skills.
-Excellent computer skills (MS-Office ,MS-Project, and Internet Applications)
-Lobbying & advocacy skills.
