General Manager
The Palestinian Network for Small & Microfmance "Sharakeh" is a non-profit non-governmental organization. Established in 2002, the network represents a forum of micro finance non-profit institutions and programs that aims at providing financial services to small enterprises, and focuses its efforts on the growth of micro-finance industry in the West Bank and Gaza Strip; particularly that micro financing is considered one of the strongest tools for economic development consistent with Palestinian economy needs
The Network is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the vacancy of:
General Manager
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:
The General Manager (GM) is the chief executive officer of the Network, responsible to the Board of Directors for the efficient management of the Network and the attainment of its objectives. The GM shall represent the Network generally in its relations with donors, members and beneficiaries (Small and Micro Finance institutions), agencies and departments of the government, and others having business with the Network within his/her delegated authorities. The GM shall have general charge of the business of the Network and shall keep the Board of Directors fully informed concerning the business of the Network. The GM oversees all daily operations of the Network and directly supervises all departments' heads and employees.
More specifically, the GM will:
-Define the strategy of the Network, subject to Board of Directors' direction.
-Interpret the strategic goals set by the Board of Directors into long-term and short-term plans, which includes recruitment plans, performance development (training needs plan), administrative and financial plans, and participate in preparing these plans with the management team, and in cooperation with the Board of Directors.
-Manage and supervise fund raising process starting from needs assessment, funding requirement designing, reporting and follow up
-Suggest practical actions and policies to the Board of Directors that will improve the Network's operations.
-Ensure the proper management of the Network and the achievement of its objective; this includes managing, overseeing, supervising, and evaluating all employees.
-Get, review and participate in preparing quarterly, and annual managerial and performance reports for the Board of Directors
-Get, review and suggest improvements to all technical studies conducted for the Network's and its members' benefits.
-Ensure establishing and maintaining excellent financial management, controls, and transparency, mobilizing support to the Network and all its operations
-Manage and supervise fund raising process starting from needs assessment, funding requirement designing, reporting and follow up
-Build and maintain productive relationships with the Network's members, beneficiaries, partners, donors, and all other parties having business with the Network.
-Represent the Network, or designate internal representative, in all local and foreign relationships, meetings, workshops, conferences, and receptions that affects the Network's operations
-Advocate and lobby for the Network's benefits and sustainabihty.
Required EducationXExpenence: Interested candidates must have:
-Masters degree in a business Administration, Economics, Development Studies or related field of study.
-At least 8 years in project management and finance
-Knowledge of the Palestinian Authority.
-Passed training course/s in Microfinance.
Additional Required Skills:
-Very good lingual and written communication skills.
-Very good computer skills; mainly in Microsoft Office package.
-Excellent leadership and communication skills.
-Research, writing and analytical skills.
-Fluency in Arabic and English.
