Genetics Lab Technician – Jerusalem Hospital

St John Eye Hospital Group is the leading provider of eye care in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip. The main Hospital is in Jerusalem and has centers in Hebron, Anabta and in Gaza. In addition to our extensive range of specialist services, we also provide support within the community through our Outreach Teams, which travel throughout the West Bank.

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Genetics Lab Technician on part time basis 40% (16 hours/2 days) to work in our Hospital in Jerusalem. To apply you should have the following:

Bachelor, preferably Master’s degree in Biology from a recognized university.

Valid Palestinian or Israeli license to practice Medical Laboratory.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a molecular biology research lab or a clinical genetics lab (this should have included PCR & sequencing analysis, DNA & RNA extraction, cell line growth, IHC, western blot & other molecular biology techniques).

Good computer skills including office (word, excel, PowerPoint) & experience in referring to known genetics websites for research purposes & analysis of results.

Preferable experience in the field of Bioinformatics & analysis of whole exome results.

Motivation to do research & ability to plan projects in the field of ophthalmic genetics.

Ability to work in team & flexibility in working hours according to the needs of the lab.

Willingness to teach junior staff & Students.

Fluent English language.

Received COVID-19 vaccine.
