The USAID-funded Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development Project (the Flagship Project) is a five-year project funded by USAID and implemented by Chemonics International Inc. to support the Palestinian Ministry of Health and other key non-governmental health providers in developing a vibrant, sustainable, and efficient health system to improve the quality of life for the Palestinian people. The Flagship Project is currently recruiting highly motivated professionals specializing in the following areas:
Grants Coordinator (Long-term)
-Assists in conducting a pre-award responsibility determination (technical and management aspects) including reference checks
-Guides potential grantees in drafting action plans and follows up on pending and future grants
-Performs detailed review of grant application budgets (to check appropriate calculations (i.e. social security, tax withholdings, transportation, training) and allow ability of costs in accordance to OMB A-122)
-Conducts detailed review of concept papers and applications, and the proposed budget to ensure that they are technically sounds, linked with the project’s overall objectives.
-Attends and contributes in all grant-related meetings
-Serves as the official file record keeper for the grants program including all required documents, site visits, meeting minutes, records of telephone calls, reports, etc.
-Reviews grant agreements with grantees and participates in grantee orientations and workshops
-Tracks all key correspondence related to the grant
-Enforces deadlines through sending biweekly grant updates (calendar of grant events and pending reports)
-Works on the steps involved in closing out a grant
Qualifications:
-A relevant degree in social sciences
-Minimum 2-3 years extensive relevant thematic experience in NGO work
-Experience with capacity building activities for civil society organizations and other community-based citizen’s groups.
-Relevant experience in NGO grant making.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience with facilitating NGO related workshops and working with teams.
-Experience with innovative participatory approaches and processes.
