1. Grant Preparation and Coordination:
• Coordinate with the Head of Departments and the Head of Resource Development Manager to meet grant submission deadlines and accomplish program objectives.
• Act as a liaison between internal departments, ensuring efficient communication and the timely sharing of necessary documents and information for grant applications.
2. Concept Paper and Proposal Development:
• Assist the Head of Resource Development Manager in organizing the preparation of conceptpapers and grant proposals.
• Collaborate with technical teams to contribute to content development, ensuring alignment with donor expectations and program goals.
• Draft sections of proposals, integrating feedback from multiple stakeholders and ensuring the quality and coherence of the final submission.
3. Budget Review and Financial Coordination:
• Coordinate with the Finance Department to review and finalize grant budgets, ensuring they meet both organizational and donor requirements.
• Work closely with the Finance team to ensure that all budget allocations are accurately documented and aligned with project objectives.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and compliance with grant requirements.
4. Project Proposal Development:
• Oversee the development of project proposals, maintaining a high standard of quality, accuracy, and alignment with donor guidelines and organizational priorities.
• Ensure all proposals are completed in a time-effective manner, meeting internal review schedules and external submission deadlines.
5. Surveys and Needs Assessment Research:
• Design and conduct surveys, needs assessments, and other research activities to gather relevant data on community needs and project impact, in collaboration with technical teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define research objectives, methodologies, and data collection tools that accurately assess needs and inform proposal development.
• Analyze collected data and compile findings into reports and summaries that can be used to guide program planning and proposal writing.
• Maintain updated records of assessment findings and ensure that insights are integrated into project proposals and donor reports.
6. Donor Reporting and Documentation:
• Coordinate timely and accurate reporting to donors, collaborating with report drafting leads to ensure content quality, clarity, and relevance.
• Review and edit donor reports before submission to ensure adherence to organizational standards and donor guidelines.
• Maintain an organized record of submitted proposals, approved grants, and related documentation for easy reference and reporting.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience in grant writing, proposal development, project management, and/or needs assessment within a nonprofit or development setting.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
• Strong analytical & research skills, with experience in survey design and data analysis preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating clear and persuasive proposals and reports.
• Knowledge of budget review and financial reporting processes is a plus
• Personal Attributes: This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strongorganizational and research skills who can effectively support resource development efforts. The Grant and Research Officer plays a crucial role in enabling the organization to secure funding, conduct relevant needs assessments, and sustain impactful programming.
