SOS Children’s Villages International (SOS CVI) is a dynamic social development organisation active in over 132 countries worldwide, working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children. It operates through a federation network of National Associations (NAs) across the globe, working in the areas of child development and emergency response.

SOS Children’s Villages Palestine is currently recruiting for its interim care centre in Gaza City. The interim care centre will serve as a temporary shelter for children who have either lost parental care or are at risk of losing this care.

Position: Guard
Location: Gaza City
Line Manager: Finance, HR, Admin Officer
Contract: One year fixed term
Position summary: The guard will work under the direct supervision of the Finance,HR,Admin Officer, the guard is required to provide security and safety services to assure the safety of the children and staff,  secure assets and protection of the designated car park.

Main tasks will include:
-Performs in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
(i)Screens, controls, and clears persons, packages and vehicles entering and exiting the premises; prevents weapons from entering the premises with the authority to deny entry, etc.
-Conducts foot-patrols for the purpose of identifying potential malfunction of physical security measures and other technical appliances and intercepting unauthorized persons attempting to enter the premises
-supervise the security of the centre during the night.

Competencies and Experience:
-Successful completion of at least preparatory education
-Hold a Valid Palestinian driving license
-physically fit with minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with INGO or NGO
-Basic knowledge of spoken English and written Arabic
-Demonstrated ability to solve operational issues/problems;
 -Basic working knowledge of computer hardware and software programmes;
