Title: Head of Programmes
Ref: HOP-A-10-2011
Location: Gaza Office Duration: one year (full time)

Overall Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Country director, the HoP is to be responsible for the overall management and direction of IR programmes and projects in Gaza, including the Emergency Relief. Child Welfare, Development and construction programmes.

The main tasks will include:
-provide strategic leadership and expertise to the programmes
-Provide timely and high quality proposals and reports to donors.
-ensure the programme meets Islamic Relief Quality Standards
-ensure the development and utilization of best practice for technical interventions
-network with, and represent Islamic Relief to partners (government authorities, donors. INGOs, local NGOs, CBOs, etc)

Candidates must possess the following competencies:
-A post graduate degree in administrative management, social development or a related field
-Minimum of seven years experience of working for an international NGO
-Proven experienced designing & implementing development and / or emergency relief programmes
-Extensive experience and / or knowledge of Palestine.
-A proven record of effective management
-Experience in programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and appraisal (minimum five years)
-Budgeting skills

General Skills required for all applicants :
-Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
-Interpersonal skills and good communication skills
-Excellent computer skills
-Fluency in English (written and spoken)
-Excellent repot writing skills
