Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is an International Humanitarian Organization and a member of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. QRCS started its representation in Gaza on January 2008 in order to address humanitarian needs in Gaza Strip. Although,
in order to improve services and assistance to Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, QRCS invites candidates to apply for the following
position:

The Health Coordinator will be responsible to initiate, manage, and evaluate emergency, rehabilitation and development programmes according to well defined public health standards, adhering to The Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation policies, technical guidelines and Sphere standards. These programmes should feature measurable elements and target the most vulnerable.
Location: Gaza Strip
Main Responsibilities:
• Work towards the achievement of the QRCS goals in Gaza Strip through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork.
• Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities.
• Participate in health programs’ and strategy development within the Gaza Strip areas.
• Undertake/ assist needs assessment and survey if necessary.
• Prepare and write timely and accurate project proposals and reports in collaboration with QRCS Gaza Coordinator.
• Ensure the development of M&E plans and use data for decision making in planning and implementation of QRCS health programs in Gaza Strip.
• Lead the monitoring and evaluation of QRCS Gaza health projects.
• Undertake/Coordinate the submission of timely and accurate monthly activity reports for inclusion in the monthly situation report submitted to the QRCS HQ in Doha.
• Facilitate the documentation of best practices and lessons learnt and share the information with the QRCS Gaza Coordinator for further dissemination.
• Maintain and strengthen relations with PRCS during the coarse of works implemented by QRCS in cooperation with PRCS.
• Co-ordinate and represent QRCS to the health providers in Gaza Strip, including PRCS, MoH, WHO, UN agencies, International and
Local NGOs and other counterparts to ensure that all project activities are carried out with the highest level of cooperation in order to achieve project objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with other health actors in Gaza Strip.
• Represent QRCS at donor/NGO/government forums and provide information to the QRCS Gaza Coordinator for further dissemination to other staff.
• Perform other work related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Skills & Minimum Qualifications:
• Medical Doctor, Biomedical Engineer, Pharmacist or Nurse with strong post qualification experience (minimum 5 years).
• Previous experience in health development or humanitarian aid field work.
• Strong experience of representation at all levels, specially, with local and International counterparts.
• Strong report and proposal writing skills.
• Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
• Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office.
• Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience of team leadership and staff management.
• Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues.
• An understanding of and commitment to QRCS’s mission and values.
