FUNCTION: Health Field Officer I Emergency Program within Hospitals
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: GAZA Length of assignment    12 months

About ICRC
The ICRC, established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war

Main tasks
-Assist and support the ICRC Emergency program team
-to provide written and spoken translation (Arabic/ English)
-Facilitate access and maintain contacts with the management In hospitals
-Assist the ICRC EO team in matters related to the context training and capacity building, including translation
-Contribute to developing logistics frame (RBM), define indicators, plan activities and evaluate
-Participate in planned activities according to the objectives of the program
-Contribute to the Internal reporting in the Delegation related to the Emergency program
-Available for other activities of the health department as required
-Maintain good relations with other ICRC departments and the EMS (Emergency Medical Service)

In accordance with the Resolution No. 17,2010 of the Gaza Ministry of Interior, applicants who have a running contract with a Ministry will not be selected.

Main skills required for the post
-Registered nurse or higher degree with clinical experience. Newly graduated may be considered.
-Educated in/or experience in teaching/training of nursing staff or leading a team
-Independent and self motivated as well as ability to work in a team
-Good written and spoken English is essential Be able to translate (written and spoken) English to Arabic visa versa
-Respecting confidentiality and impartiality
-Strong computer ability in Word and Excel
-Cooperative with other ICRC departments and external Interlocutors
-Flexibility
-Diplomacy and Negotiation skills

Skills that may be acquired during the assignment
-Monitoring tools and methodologies. Results Based Management (RBM)
-Ability to represent the ICRC and conduct activities while abiding by the Principles of the Movement, most importantly neutrality and impartiality
-Languages required:
-Arabic/ English
