Health & Nutrition Specialist
For a period of 6 months renewable
General Objective:
The overall responsibility of the Health and Nutrition Specialist is to pioneer and establish a health and nutrition program at the ACF West Bank offices, working closely with existing programs such as WASH and FSL to integrate health and nutrition components, and reporting directly to the Head of Programs.
Key Activities:
Objective 1. Program Development and Implementation:
Tasks:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify health and nutrition needs, gaps, and opportunities in the West Bank.
- Develop strategic frameworks, guidelines, and standard operating procedures under the direct supervision of the Head of Programs for health and nutrition programming in collaboration with health and nutrition coordinator.
- Design and implement small-scale health and nutrition activities within existing WASH and FSL programs.
- Participate in the development of concept notes and proposals for health and nutrition interventions.
Objective 2: Coordination and Networking:
Tasks:
- Represent ACF in relevant health and nutrition cluster meetings and coordination forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local health authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs within the West Bank.
- Map existing health and nutrition actors and interventions in the area to identify potential partnerships and avoid duplication.
Objective 3: Technical Leadership:
Tasks:
- Provide technical guidance on health and nutrition integration across existing programs.
- Develop evidence-based approaches and methodologies for health and nutrition interventions for advocacy and develop a response.
- Ensure adherence to national and international standards and best practices in health and nutrition programming.
Objective 4: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
Tasks:
- Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies for health and nutrition indicators.
- Analyze and document evidence-based information on health and nutrition needs and program impacts.
- Produce regular reports and presentations on health and nutrition situational analysis and program progress.

- Master’s degree in public health, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the local context, stakeholders, and dynamics in the West Bank.
- Experience in establishing new programs or sectors within organizations.
- Proven experience in developing methodologies, tools, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and conducting impact assessments.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and/or nutrition programming in humanitarian contexts.
- Knowledge of humanitarian or emergency programming (preferred).
- Understanding relevant humanitarian and development policies, frameworks, and standards in the oPt context.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments.
- Knowledge of national and international technical standards related to the role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Understanding of the Palestinian context and health system.
- Experience in integrated programming (Health/Nutrition with WASH/FSL).
- Project management qualifications or relevant training.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel within the West Bank.
