Health Project Coordinator
Purpose of the Role
The Health Coordinator will lead and coordinate health-related programs, ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities. The role focuses on improving access to quality healthcare services, strengthening health systems, and addressing the specific needs of target populations in line with organizational goals and donor requirements. S/he will provide technical support and follow up to task implementation and monitoring in health & MHPSS in Gaza. S(he) will have overall responsibility for ensuring highest possible quality interventions. S(he) will report to the Health Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination and Implementation:
- Coordinate, implement, and follow up on health programs in coordination with stakeholders and partners, and with the Health Program Manager.
- Ensure alignment of program activities with national health strategies, donor guidelines, and organizational objectives.
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for local health workers and partners to improve service delivery.
- Supervise health program interventions to ensure timely and quality execution of health interventions.
- Makes site visits to ensure data collection validity and reliability.
- Develop and facilitate outreach child health and nutrition activities as envisaged by the program in coordination with project staff and community workers.
- Provide support to finance and procurement relevant to health, nutrition, & MHPSS programs as needed, and assist in developing ToRs as needed.
- Lead in setting medical days and clinics, coordinates settings, staffing, and logistics.
- Coordinates with the MD program in Gaza to ensure the availability of medications and supplies for the medical days and the clinics.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
- Coordinate and work closely with the MEAL team.
- Support developing and implementing M&E frameworks to track the progress and impact of health interventions.
- Regularly collect, analyze, and report data to inform donor and Anera reporting, decision-making, and program adjustments.
- Conducts regular fieldwork to follow up on implementation and monitor progress.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
- Represent the organization in meetings with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies in Gaza, and with community groups to advocate for improved health services and identify needs.
- Foster strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders to enhance program sustainability and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with local authorities/ clusters to ensure compliance with health regulations and policies.
Resource Management:
- Assist in developing budgets, work plans, and resource allocation for health programs.
- Monitor the efficient use of resources, ensuring adherence to financial and operational protocols.
- Contribute to proposal development for health projects, and recommend interventions.
Emergency Response:
- Coordinate health-related emergency preparedness and response activities, including needs assessments and rapid implementation.
- Support crisis management efforts, ensuring alignment with humanitarian standards and principles.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medical Field, Nursing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five-seven years of relevant experience in health program implementation, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong knowledge of health systems, primary healthcare, and community health approaches, and knowledge about integrated health services, MHPSS, nutrition, health promotion & WASH, inclusion, etc..
- Familiarity with donor regulations and reporting requirements.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in diverse cultural settings.
- Proficiency in English & Arabic.
- Very proactive.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.
- Commitment to the organization’s values and principles.
- Valid driving license.
