Health Promotion Officer

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing a four-year technical cooperation project under the name of "Project for Improving Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Reproductive Health (RH) services in Palestine (Phase 2)".
The project is looking for a qualified person to fill the position of Health Promotion Officer.

Requirements:
-Holds BS degree or (Equivalent to BS degree) in Public Health Related Fields.
-Experience not less than 5 years in health promotion and community awareness related to maternal and child health and reproductive health.
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
-Works cooperatively as a team member.
-Arabic and English language proficiency (Speaking and Writing Reports).
-Competency in using Computer (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities:
1-Analyze the needs for community awareness activities related to Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Reproductive Health (RH) issues.
2-Plan for nationwide health promotion activities.
3-Develop health education materials according to the needs.
4-Conduct monitoring and evaluation for overall activities.
5-Submit monthly & biannual reports on progress and activity achievement.
6-Participate in the development of an educational material related to the Maternal and Child Health Handbook (MCHHB) which will be introduced in the curriculum of educational institutions such as universities.
7-Conduct Ad hoc relevant activities upon necessity.

Duration: Full time over the period of two years.
Place of Work: Project office in Ramallah.
Salary: Based on qualifications and experience.
Starting Date : 1st or 2nd week of May 2010.
