Health Promotion Supervisor
Main Purpose
With the support and guidance of the HP Manager or Nurse Activity Manager (NAM), responsible for implementing the Health Promotion Community Engamement (HPCE) strategy / workplan, with community participation, and supervising the HPCE activities and HP teams working in the communities or the health facilities, according to the project objectives, MSF values, standards and pro-cedures.
Accountability
HPCE strategy, activities and monitoring:
•Actively contribute to the design/adaptation of the HPCE strategy / workplan.
•Lead and follow up on the implementation of the HPCE strategy / workplan, according to the chronogram.
•Support participatory approaches and regular patient/community consultations before and during the implementation of the HPCE strategy.
•Organizing health awareness sessions for MSF's medical and non-medical staff
•Support in the design of health education materials and participatory methods, applying the right process (pretesting, validation of content, translation).
•Contribute to rapid assessments and surveys.
•Actively support in the systematic collection, encoding and reporting of community feedback and rumours.
•Support the implementation of community-based surveillance (data collection, active case finding, tracing, linkage to care.
•Responsible for the planning and organization of community meetings (in collaboration with HPCE Manager/NAM).
•Contribute to the community mapping.
•Monitoring: Ensure the availability of the data collection tools; the data encoding in the data base and the quality check.
•Monitoring: Contribute to the analysis of the monitoring data and look for adjustment (in collaboration with HPCE manager/NAM), monthly reporting (MMR, sitrep…).
Team management:
•Contribute to evaluation of the HP team (with the HPCE manager/NAM).
•Contribute to the development plan for the HP team.
•Training: Contribute to the needs assessment, design and implementation of training for the HP team, in collaboration with the HPCE manager/NAM.
•Organize regular and systematic supervision of the HP activities and provide on the job-coaching.
•Ensure the planning and practical organisation of the activities for the HP team (HP roaster).
Ensure the organisation of regular HP team meetings.
•Contributes to designing and implementing the HP-IEC Strategy in collaboration with the HP team.
•Continuously assess and adjust health promotion strategies based on evaluation outcomes to enhance program effectiveness and community impact.
•Supervise health promotion initiatives across community, primary, and secondary health care levels to ensure effective implementation and impact.
•Contribute to development and implementation of collection tools, including quantitative and qualitative data, to monitor HP activities (tally sheets, regular surveys, FGD...) and better orient strategic decisions.
•Leads and contribute to creation and revision of relevant health promotion materials, in close collaboration with the team, the NAM and with support from Referents when needed
•Leads the creation and implementation of regular Digital health promotion campaign: need assessment, messaging, target population, digital platform, visuals...in close collaboration with NAM, PMR and Referents
•Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team during emergency response (e.g. post incursion); it includes educational sessions on medical, watsan topics.
•Build and sustain relationships with social partners, including local organizations, NGOs/INGOs, other humanitarian actors, and the MOH, to promote collaboration and resource sharing. Contributes in actor’s mapping, regular update of information and sharing with the team.
•Act as the focal point for communication, developing and maintaining networking with partner facilities and engaging with various stakeholders during joint activities.
•Coordinate with Nursing and Mental health supervisors to align activities and develope an internal MSF referral pathway between departments.
•Ensure that all team members collect data from their activities and accurately enter this information into the database for reporting and analysis.Contribute to the analysis of the monitoring data and look for adjustment (in collaboration with NAM), monthly reporting (MMR, sitrep,…), ad hoc reporting according to the project needs
•Coordinates and organises with NAM the HP team planning and movements.
•Report any incidents, safety concerns, or security issues to NAM without delay during the shift to ensure patient and staff safety.
•Commitment to working within a diverse and transdisciplinary team and adapting to the unique challenges of the context.
•Facilitate and maintain a positive work environment for all team members, promoting collaboration and support to all members.
•Attend MSF general and medical meetings to stay informed about project updates, share insights from the field, and engage with the rest of the team.
•Engage in mandatory training sessions on HP and other topics, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and integrate new knowledge into daily practice.
*Frequent travel between both project locations (Jenin and Tulkarem), will be required according to the needs. Additional tasks and responsibilities can be requested, according to the evolution of the medical activities in the project.
