Health, Safety and Security Coordinator
NRC Palestine is looking for an energetic and committed Health Safety and Security Coordinator who will be responsible for the safety and security of NRC staff and assets and ensures that NRC’s global and regional HSS policies and strategies are implemented across NRC's areas of operation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Implementation of the NRC Health, Safety and Security Risk Management System.
- Work with management to ensure that all staff give their informed consent based on briefing upon arrival and that updates are regularly shared on security situations.
- Work with the Country Management Group, on emergency preparedness as it pertains to programmes, providing oversight and technical support regarding security and emergency evacuations.
- Network, communicate and cooperate with relevant external HSS actors and pursue and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders to increase and maintain humanitarian access.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure security support to projects targeting beneficiaries and explore and asses new and better ways to support Programme teams.
- Monitor and analyse the context (overall security situation, risks, and most likely scenarios), ensuring reliable security information as basis for informed decision-making.
- Contribute to NRC’s Risk Management process supporting Risk & Compliance Coordinator and other Risk Owners in identifying, assessing, and managing organizational risks.
- Manage the HSS staff, and responsible for HSS staff performance and capacity building.
- Communicate and cooperate with relevant external security actors (national and international).
- Contribute to implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your area of work

Competencies:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position in a UN agency/ INGO.
- Experience in delivering training.
- Experience in liaising with communities and authorities as well as with NGOs
- Very Good English Language skills
- Knowledge of Hebrew language is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strategic Thinking
- Planning and Delivering Results.
