The ICRC Delegation in Israel and the Occupied Territories (IL/OT), is recruiting a talented, energetic, and engaged candidate for the following position:
Heavy Vehicles Driver
Place of Employment : Jerusalem
Contract duration : 1 Year contract, renewable
Trial period : 3 months
Occupation rate : 100%
Job Grade : B1
Starting Date : January 2025

Main responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Vehicle Fleet Manager in Jerusalem, the Heavy Vehicles Driver transports goods and people in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations and national traffic laws.
The Heavy Vehicles Driver
- Drive trucks safely, following internal security rules and traffic laws, and ensure fuel-efficient operation.
- Transport people and goods, including during weekends and evenings, as instructed.
- Safely load, unload, and secure cargo according to safety standards; supervise loading/unloading as needed.
- Ensure all cargo documentation is accurate and signed and return documents to dispatch after delivery.
- Communicate with the radio room about departure and return times and report any road or security issues.
- Park vehicles in safe areas at all times and follow internal security protocols.
- Monitor fuel levels, fill out fuel logs, and report fuel receipts to dispatch after each trip.
- Perform vehicle checks before trips, monitor instrument panel, and promptly report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, check equipment, and be prepared to assist other drivers.
- Report any incidents or vehicle issues, including minor accidents, within 24 hours.
Education & professional experience:
- Secondary school diploma
- Driving license B, C, D, and E license to pull 40-MT trailers (C1E)
- Knowledge of the local language, Hebrew an asset.
Desired profile and skills:
- Good knowledge of the security situation and terrain in the area of assignment
- Minimum two years of experience as a truck driver
- Ability to change a tire and carry out minor repairs on the road
