Hospital Engineer

Children’s Relief Bethlehem is an international humanitarian, non-profit organization, with its headquarters in Switzerland. Caritas Baby Hospital, established in Bethlehem 60 years ago, is the pilot project of Children’s Relief Bethlehem. The Hospital has a wide range of activities: an 82-bed pediatric hospital with a full range of diagnostic facilities, an extensive pediatric outpatient clinic, a diversified social work sector, and an officially recognized nursing college for practical nurses. Caritas Baby Hospital is seeking to fill in three positions:

Hospital Engineer

(All Positions are based in Bethlehem)

The successful candidate will:
1-Join a team of five engineers / Technicians at the department of technical services.
2-Study and implement plans to ensure the smooth operation and readiness of all facility technical systems at the hospital premises.
3-Study and execute necessary modifications to ensure the compliance of safety and engineering standards for a broad variety of technical systems.
4-Coordinate and actively engage in the activities of the maintenance team and various service providers including outside consultants and contractors.
5-Oversee and manage external services contracts.
6-Perform hands-on repairs for a large number of installations and equipment.
7-Be ready to respond to emergency cases and willing to be on-call.
8-Produce and review the Standard Operational Procedures and Planned Preventive Maintenance Procedures of technical systems in English and Arabic language.
9-Analyze and report on energy consumptions; Recommend and implement energy conservation projects and initiatives.
10-Have hands on experience and knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems such as single and 3 phase power and lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, standby generators, compressors, vacuum systems, Air handling units, fan coil units, refrigeration, pumps, motors, hot and cold water systems, heating systems, air conditioning systems, water treatment, pipe work, institutional and domestic appliances, and general building repairs.
11-Provide periodic reports to the head of technical services.
12-Be willing to participate in continuous education training courses. Candidate will attend courses and train other maintenance engineers and technicians.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.
-Experience in HVAC systems.
-Strong IT skills
-Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
-Fluency in oral and written English.
-Strong reporting skills in English language.
-Ability to communicate information effectively.
-Commitment to providing quality results and services.
-Self motivated - clear and deep thinker.
-Strong identification with Caritas Baby Hospital values.
