IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. IREX enables local individuals and institutions to build key elements of a vibrant society: quality education and innovative youth development programming, independent media, and strong communities.
In the West Bank and Gaza, IREX is implementing the USAID-funded Partnerships with Youth (PWY) program. The PWY Program expands educational and leadership opportunities for young people aged 14-29 throughout the West Bank by creating sustainable hubs for youth innovation and learning, called Youth Development Resource Centers (YDRCs). PWY supports YDRCs throughout the West Bank to offer otherwise unavailable services and programming for youth to prepare them for a successful transition to adulthood and help ensure economic and civic participation in their communities.
Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Youth Programs Manager, the ICT Specialist will provide technical expertise and project management support for the ICT component of the PWY program.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement the PWY ICT programming strategy and periodic activity plans;
- Provide creative and innovative ideas, guidance, and feedback to the YDRCs on their ICT programming;
- Design and deliver youth-focused ICT training-of-trainer (TOT) workshops and other ICT training courses;
- Review the YDRCs’ ICT training schedules, materials, and relevant products and give timely feedback;
- Provide ICT technical support, coaching, and mentoring to ICT interns at the YDRCs, as well as to the YDRCs’ ICT staff, as needed;
- Oversee direct implementation of ICT activities, as needed;
- Work with the PWY grants team to identify ICT equipment for procurement for the YDRCs;
- Review technical reports and deliverables submitted by the YDRCs as part of their monthly grant payment requests;
- In coordination with the PWY Partnerships Specialist, identify and establish partnerships with local and international ICT companies; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in ICT, IT, or relevant field.
- At least three years of relevant work experience in ICT and demonstrated technical ICT skills.
- Experience designing and implementing ICT training for youth and/or adults strongly preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work under minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English language skills.
- Prior experience in youth development or with a youth-serving organization a plus.
