“Inclusive Education”
1. Introduction
Teach For Palestine is an independent non-governmental Palestinian organization established in early 2023. Its mission is to contribute to providing quality and inclusive school education for all children in Palestine. This is achieved through improving the classroom and school environment, adopting innovative teaching, and learning methods, and seeking to provide promising creative solutions to educational challenges, especially in marginalized and remote areas.
TFP is working on develop collective leadership by investing in promising teachers who commit to teach in vulnerable schools and become lifelong advocates for the right of every child to learn in safe and quality learning environments and take actions towards achieving this right. The program focuses on equipping the targeted teachers of primary levels with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindsets to achieve transformative educational outcomes in Palestine.
The aim of this training program is to enhance the competencies and skills of participants, expanding their vision in adopting an inclusive education approach. The application of the inclusive education program aligns with the philosophy and policy of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, integrating all students regardless of learning difficulties. The goal is to transform schools into inclusive institutions that accommodate individual differences, providing and implementing intervention plans within the classroom.
- Objectives:
- Develop trainees' competencies: Enhance the skills and understanding of trainers in the inclusive education approach.
- Equip teachers with inclusive practices, and techniques: Prepare teachers to apply inclusive education techniques and create inclusive classroom environments to support the implementation of inclusive education practices in Palestinian schools.
- Scope of Training
The trainer will be responsible for:
- Delivering Training Sessions: Conducting 72 training hours divided to twelve (12) engaging and participatory training sessions based on the provided framework and content, 9 training days will be face to face and 6 virtual sessions via Teams.
- Content Coverage:
- Module 1: Learning Disabilities and Difficulties
- Increasing Awareness: Enhance understanding of cognitive developmental disorders.
- Early Detection: Develop skills for identifying students with academic, developmental, and emotional-behavioral challenges at an early stage.
- Effective Accommodations: Learn to identify and apply appropriate accommodation within the classroom setting.
- Networking and Referrals: Understand mechanisms for networking and referring students who require specialized interventions.
- Learner-Centered Education: Foster an educational environment that prioritizes the learner and respects individual differences.
- Skill Enhancement: Strengthen the ability to support and work effectively with students facing various difficulties and challenges.
- Module 2: Language and Communication Disorders
- Identifying Language Delays: Recognize signs of language delays in children and discuss their various forms and symptoms.
- Understanding Communication Disorders: Explore different types of communication disorders and their impact on child development.
- Addressing Attention Disorders: Identify attention disorders and implement strategies to enhance attention within the classroom.
- Memory Development: Learn about different types of memory, their developmental stages, and classroom exercises to improve memory skills.
- Expressive Language Development: Understand the stages of expressive language development and strategies to expand vocabulary.
- Improving Social Communication: Identify children with social communication difficulties and develop effective strategies to enhance these skills.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder: Recognize symptoms of autism spectrum disorder and explore methods for assessment and behavioral intervention.
3. Training Methodology
The training methodology will include:
- Learning by Doing: Emphasizing practical application and hands-on learning.
- Interactive Tools: Utilizing role plays, case studies, and brainstorming sessions.
- Resource Utilization: Employing videos, case studies, and group discussions to enhance understanding.
4. Deliverables
- Training Sessions: Execute thorough 12 training sessions, 9 training sessions will be face to face and 6 virtual sessions via Teams in alignment with the established framework.
- Participant Engagement: Facilitate active engagement among participants and ensure the practical application of acquired knowledge in classroom environments.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Offer constructive feedback and assess participant progress through evaluations and practical assignments.
- Final Report: Prepare a comprehensive final report that includes an analysis of outcomes and actionable recommendations.
5. Duration and Location:
- The assignment will commence on 20th August 2024 and conclude on 21st December 2024 with a total of 12 training sessions. Two virtual training sessions will equate to one face to face session/day. A maximum of 6 sessions will be dedicated to virtual training, accounting for three sessions out of the twelve training sessions.
- Training sessions will be conducted at PRCS – Al Bireh and it will be both face to face and virtually based on prior agreement.
6. Resources
The trainer will have access to:
- Training Materials
- Support Staff: Assistance from executive staff for logistics and coordination.

Qualifications and Experience
The trainer should have:
- At least MA degree in Education, Inclusive Education, Psychology, Human Rights, or any other related field.
- Expert Knowledge: In-depth understanding of inclusive education, learning disabilities, and communication disorders.
- Experience: Proven experience (5-7 years) in training educators and implementing inclusive education practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated expertise in interactive and participatory training methodologies.
- Proven ability to assess training needs and evaluate training outcomes.
