Information & Communications Technology Officer

Location: Gaza Strip

Duration: 4 months with possible extension for one year upon fund availability

Global Communities is seeking an Information & Communications Technology Officer for a Food Security Program funded by the World Food Programme WFP.  The ICT Officer will work to deliver an integrated, secure, efficient working environment where information is readily available to help support the Food Security Program and Global Communities Office in Gaza. The role of ICT officer supports the use of information and communication technology while enabling the delivery of effective and secure IT systems and contributing to the development and implementation of IT standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the quarterly update on the Food Security Program caseload and reflect it on the database
• Manage the overall communication and technology infrastructure of the office in Gaza
• Support and contribute to IT-related tasks through the implementation of appropriate technologies and solutions
• Assist in the improvements of Global Communities ICT architecture
• Act as the principal administrator and ensure the maintenance of the Organization’s systems, including: general computer support; software installations; license management; database administration; network, printers, audio/video conferencing and mobile phone support; deployment of equipment; management of inventories; disaster recovery; and periodic security vulnerability assessments
• Manage the online database of the Food Security Program

• Bachelor Degree in computer science, MIS or any related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical IT role,
• Excellent technical knowledge in cloud-based storage systems, MS Office Suites, SQL and MySQL
• Good experience in Hard ware and software systems
• Good experience in printers and copiers functionality and operation
• Full professional proficiency in spoken and written in both English and Arabic;
