Job Overview
The Information Management (IM) Associate at AWRAD will play a key role in supporting the organization’s research and data-driven projects, particularly those focused on humanitarian and development issues. The IM Associate will be responsible for ensuring that data collection, analysis, and dissemination meet high standards of accuracy and usefulness for decision-making processes. They will work closely with the Research and Analysis team, partner organizations, and relevant stakeholders to deliver high-quality information outputs that inform program strategies, policy development, and emergency response activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Management:
- Assist in designing and managing data collection tools, such as surveys and field assessments.
- Organize, clean, and validate datasets to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Monitor data collection processes and provide troubleshooting support to field teams.
- Information Systems Development:
- Develop and maintain databases and information management systems.
- Support in integrating data from various sources (e.g., UNOSAT satellite imagery, social media, census data, etc.) into AWRAD’s data frameworks.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of data dashboards and other reporting tools.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis using statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R).
- Prepare reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including donors, government bodies, and partner organizations.
- Support in the production of GIS maps, infographics, and other data-driven visuals.
- Collaboration & Capacity Building:
- Work closely with the field research teams to ensure data quality and timely submission of information.
- Provide training and capacity-building support to colleagues and partners on data collection and information management best practices.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of rapid needs assessments, particularly for the WASH cluster and other sectors.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination:
- Act as the focal point for information management in multi-sectoral collaborations, including working groups such as the Information Management Working Group.
- Liaise with external partners, including donors, UN agencies, and NGOs, to coordinate information sharing and maintain updated databases.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, offering input on data-related matters.
- Data Integrity & Security:
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive data, following AWRAD’s data protection policies.
- Implement data backup and disaster recovery protocols for all datasets.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is an asset.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in data management, information systems, or related fields, ideally within humanitarian or development sectors.
- Proven experience in designing and managing databases, data collection tools, and dashboards.
- Skills:
- Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R) and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong knowledge of database management systems and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with satellite imagery analysis and the use of open-source data platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Languages:
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with international organizations or NGOs.
- Knowledge of humanitarian standards, such as Sphere standards or the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX).
- Experience with rapid needs assessments and/or emergency response projects.
