The Institute for Community Partnership is seeking candidate for the following position as part of
the project “Development through business model cooperatives”, funded by The Belgian Technical
Cooperation (BTC).

Position Title: Institutional Development Officer
Duration of Assignment: 9 months

Position Description:
The Institutional Development Officer will be responsible for training, coaching and helping four cooperatives in improving their administrative, financial and marketing operations to enable the cooperatives to become model cooperatives in their respective fields.

Location of Assignment:
The Institutional Development officer will be based in Bethlehem, with extensive field work in the North and Middle of Palestine.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
-Deliver ongoing training and mentoring support to cooperatives in the field of management,
finance, good governance and marketing.
-Participate in conducting feasibility studies, business plans and strategic planning for the partner
cooperatives.
-Conduct regular Monitoring and Evaluation for partner cooperatives.
-Ensure the quality of products produced by the cooperatives and help in their marketing through
helping the cooperatives in implementing their marketing plans and setting up marketing channels.
-Work with cooperatives to develop organizational structure and Job Descriptions for the Board
of directors, employees and volunteers.
-Ensure that cooperatives report regularly to constituents on progress, successes and problems
in implementing their plans (through notice boards, feedback sessions/meetings and annual
reports).
-Ensure that cooperatives have internal by-laws established and monitor the adherence to bylaws
on regular basis.
-Mentor cooperatives to develop and implement a resource optimization strategy.

Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or any relevant major.
-At least 3 years experience working in the required field.
-Ability to travel extensively within the Northern part of Palestine.
-Excellent communication and team work skills, computer skills, and ability to work under pressure.
-Background in Marketing and Cooperatives management is a plus.
-Valid driving license.
