Integrity Action facilitates the Integrity Education Network - one of the largest academic networks worldwide dedicated to integrity and anti-corruption (456 academic, training and NGO institutions). Through this programme thousands of professionals, academics, practitioners and students every year attend workshops or are taught courses on integrity in their societies and their chosen professions.
Integrity Action is looking for a super organised, enthusiastic person to work as a Programme Manager for our Global Integrity Education (IE) programme, but with a particular focus on several specific countries, some of which are conflict-affected countries. The programme manager will assist the programme director in the overall implementation and evaluation of the Integrity Education Programme, with an emphasis on materials development, training, evaluation, and project management.
You would be the manager who coordinates specific grant contracts, prepares training materials and donor reports, and delivers training to academics, trainers of public officials, field staff and partner institutions to strengthen the IE network. The Programme Manager would also need to be experienced and comfortable dealing with monitoring and evaluation frameworks to capture and drive forward our impact measurement.
Responsibilities:
The Programme Manager will contribute to the work of IE through leading on project management and training matters. Key tasks of this position will include:
Management and Programme Implementation:
-Work with the IE Programme Director to design and deliver strategic and sustainable programme workplans.
-Lead and manage the implementation of IE projects in several post-conflict and conflict-affected countries from planning to completion.
-Manage programme / project budgets from initiation, monitoring to reporting and reconciling.
-Coordinate and deliver IE activities such as training workshops and conferences in close cooperation with the Programme Director;
-Ensure that integrity building activities are included in all conversations, activities and representations as part of Integrity Education.
-Maintain continuous communication with Integrity Education Network partners in order to strengthen the collaboration and achievement of longer term impact. This will involve significant travel, email, and phone contact.
-Revise as necessary workplans of IE programme activities and ensure compliance with expected programme results and deadlines.
-Ensure the integration and coordination of the various programme components and staff roles within the overall organisational goals and objectives.
-Coordinate meetings with and ensure communication between programme specialists and/or country team leaders, and IEN partners.
-Periodic field visits to IE countries.
Training and communication level impact
Build and promote appropriate partnerships with other organisations (academic institutes, training institutes, NGO’s, research centres, donors, etc.)
Identify lessons learnt and contribute to organisational learning and knowledge sharing within Integrity Action and with relevant stakeholders.
Write new curricula, policy papers, articles, in-depth reports and case studies on IEN programme activities.
Represent Integrity Action by delivering training or presentations at international meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
Sustainability, Impact Assessment
-Donor management, including writing and editing narrative reports, to donors and other stakeholders, on IE approaches and strategies.
-Support the Programme Director to lead on introducing and overseeing our monitoring and evaluation tools and metrics to assess the impact and sustainability of IE activities.
-Keeping up to date with monitoring and evaluation best practice / methodologies and seek to tailor new approaches to better capture impact within IE activities.
-Publish case studies and working papers on impact.
-Identify lessons learnt and contribute to knowledge sharing within Integrity Action.
Qualifications:
-A post graduate degree in political science, development studies, public administration, or other relevant field; advanced degree preferable,
-Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a related field,
-Proven experience in programme management within an international organisation including managing programme budgets, forecasting and reporting,
-Working knowledge of issues in integrity and governance and an interest in combating poverty and development issues,
-Experience in working and collaborating with academic organisations,
-Proven experience in the monitoring and evaluation of projects, ability to analyse data efficiently and concisely as well as report findings to management, partners and external stakeholders,
-Team working skills; the ability to work independently as well as the ability to work well with people from various regions, cultures and contexts,
-Good communication and interpersonal skills,
-Fluency in English - both written and oral communication; working knowledge of other languages is highly desirable,
-Computer literacy: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Excel, etc), M&E software is an advantage, experience working on databases
-Available for frequent travel within the Middle East and conflict-affected countries.
