Since its establishment in 1968, IREX has employed field-tested methods and innovative uses of technologies to develop practical and locally-driven solutions with partners in 120 countries. In the West Bank, IREX brings an innovative youth development approach that will lead the development and implementation of the USAID-funded Partnerships with Youth program in the West Bank.
Partnerships with Youth is a five-year, USAID-funded program that builds on and expands USAID-supported Youth Development Resource Centers (YDRCs) to create opportunities for active youth learning and innovation in the West Bank. PWY provides subgrants and technical assistance to eight YDRCs in Hebron, Jenin, Jericho, Nablus, Qalqilya, Tubas, Salfit, and Tulkarem, and two implementing partners in Albireh and Bethlehem to build their organizational capacity and improve their sustainability.
Summary of Position:
The PWY Program is seeking for a 3-month Internship Fellow to provide support for the PWY internship program and assist the Internship Specialist with a variety of administrative and logistical tasks. The internship program provides three- to four-month internships for recent university graduates at Youth Development Resource Centers throughout the West Bank.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Request, collect, and maintain interns’ documentation (CVs, IDs, contracts, and other required data);
-Help facilitate all administrative aspects and logistical arrangements for the TOT workshops;
-Regularly follow up with interns to monitor internship progress and interns’ performance;
-Provide coaching, mentoring to interns to ensure supportive communication for interns including conducting field visits to the YDRCs to ensure interns are getting best practical experience at the YDRCs.
-Participate in conducting mid-term and final performance evaluation workshops for interns and collect information to ensure proper documentation of the discussion, results and recommendations.
-Organize logistical arrangements and facilitate interns’ evaluations by YDRC staff/supervisors;
-Review and maintain internship reporting requirements on a monthly basis (e.g., timesheets, reports, and other data/deliverables required); -Update and enter data into internship database, and maintain soft and hard copy files of all documents and information collected; Conduct post follow up with interns who have completed their internships via phone and email surveys at three-months and six-months intervals; and
-Other duties as assigned that contribute to the overall success of the Program.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and the following qualifications:
-Previous experience with youth programs and internships or other practical workplace programs for youth in the West Bank;
-Good writing, editing, and oral presentation skills, as evidenced by professional experience;
-Experience with program communications;
-Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task;
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members and with youth interns at the Youth Development and Resource Centers in the West Bank;
-Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office suite and online databases; and
-Strong English and Arabic language skills required.
