IT Assistant
The A.M. Qattan Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of IT Assistant, Information Technology Unit. The description of this position is as follows:
Job Title: IT Assistant
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract for 2 years
Line of Responsibility: Manager, Information Technology Unit
Work Location: Ramallah
Job Objectives:
Works with IT infrastructure Management, IT security, Systems administration, IT support, and application support.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Networking and firewalls
- Support and maintain the network infrastructure as required by the Foundation's IT policy.
- Support and maintain network security services.
Technical Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems in a timely manner.
- Assist users with the Cisco Unified Telephone System, including phone setup, voicemail configuration, and troubleshooting telephony issues.
- Manage the MYQ printing system, including printer setup, driver installation, and resolving printing-related problems.
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies.
IT Procurement and Inventory Management:
- Assist in the procurement processes of IT equipment, systems, and applications by providing specifications and analysis.
- Maintain and regularly update the inventory of IT equipment, including quarterly reports.
End User Support:
- Provide technical support and assistance to end users for hardware and software issues.
- Schedule and coordinate computer-related services, maintenance, and license renewals.
- Ensure uninterrupted and effective IT services for the Foundation's different offices.
- Provide in-house training and assistance to staff on the usage of IT equipment, software, Cisco Unified Telephone System, and MYQ printing system.
Managerial Tasks
- Implement Foundation IT policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and security.
- Maintain accurate records of IT occurrences and issues, as well as their resolutions.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements in IT procedures and workflows.
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services to end users and stakeholders.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in IT-related field (Computer Science, Computer Networking, and Information Systems)
- At least Three years of relevant work experience.
- Proven experience in providing end user support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with Cisco Unified Telephone System administration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of MYQ printing system setup, configuration, and problem resolution.
- Strong technical knowledge of networking, operating systems, and software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of IT service management processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with IT procurement processes and vendor management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptable to changing technologies and able to learn new systems quickly.
