IT Department Manager
Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the Information Technology Department to include hardware, software, network, and telecommunication; identifies, recommends, develops, implements, and supports cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization; prepares bid specifications and analyzes bid proposals for computer and network equipment and software; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and provides highly responsible and support to the Hospital Administrative.
Responsibilities:
-Manage information technology and computer systems
-Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
-Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
-Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
-Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
-Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for information technology staff; assign work activities, projects, and programs; review and- -evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems.
-Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; -implement discipline and termination procedures.
-Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
-Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
-Audit systems and assess their outcomes
-Preserve assets, information security and control structures
-Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
-Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints
-Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications and Expertise Required:
-University Degree or an equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized institution is required. Advanced courses in the -relevant field are desired.
-PMP Certification is an asset.
-Minimum, 10 years of work experience that is relevant for fulfilling the above outlined scope of work; and demonstrated familiarity with managing -contemporary databases, open source technologies, modern application development and other necessary skills for the job.
-Previous experience in leading and managing and training of staff in HMIS, HR
-Previous experience of working in a hospital setup and/or other healthcare settings is an advantage.
-Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
-Excellent communications and writing skills.
-Excellent IT skills, including word-processing, database applications, presentation software, etc.
