About our oPT Program
Relief International was operational in OPT starting in 2007, and after entering hibernation period in 2017, has recently reactivated its operations at the end of 2023. Relief International is currently building its response to the current and evolving situation in both Gaza and the West Bank through both a direct implementation and partnership approach. Relief International’s programming in OPT follows Relief International’s global strategy with Health as a central focus with components linked to our work in Health through the sectors of WASH, Protection, Education and Livelihoods.
Job Profile
The IT officer manages and sustains Relief International’s computer networks in Ramallah, sets up hardware and software, and offers technical assistance to RI staff in the area. The IT Officer collaborates with the both Ramallah & Gaza team under the technical supervisor of the Regional IT Coordinator to implement global IT standards and procedures locally, ensuring alignment with RI's global IT strategy.
Key responsibilities
Accountability and Complexity
- Ensure all the local devices are free of virus/malware and the protection agents are up-to-date
- Manage and keep track of IT inventory for OPT and submit updated copy to IT & Logistic department
- Manage and maintain Power Sources to the office, upgrade if needed. Including gas generator and renewable energy sources, if apply.
- Setup necessary backup power options to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the network
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- User Support
- Utilize the IT support ticketing system to troubleshoot users’ computer problems, determine sources of issues, and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Support RI staff in oPt to access IT-managed services, and
- Setup new user accounts and assist users to maintain active profiles throughout IT-managed systems
- Remotely support RI Staff in Ramallah and Gaza when needed.
- Computer Systems Monitoring and Maintenance
- Follow the RI Computer Standards to install and configure computer operating systems and all RI software
- Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance to ensure all local computers are up-to-date with important software and system updates
- Upgrading Laptop’s hardware to meet IT standardized requirement.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or connectivity problems promptly.
- Network Monitoring and Maintenance
- Perform regularly scheduled network equipment maintenance to ensure that oPt offices/transit place networks are running smoothly
- Monitor networking firewalls and enforce network security policies
- Diagnose and fix network problems or potential problems
- Maintain other networked equipment, including but not limited to: printers, scanners, phones, power generators and web conferencing systems.
- Information Security Response
- Monitor and response to security alerts associated with local users
- Coordinate with IT Department to response to any cyber-attacks targeting local users or devices.
- Infrastructure Maintenance
- Maintain and manage office cabling, including power cables and network cabling
- Technical support for deploying Solar Power system setup in offices.
- IT knowledge and user training
- Complete and fulfil all IT training requirements
- Attend necessary IT webinars and seminars to stay up-to-date with changes to all IT-managed solutions
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and support best practices
- Provide basic IT user training and orientation to local staff as needed
- Others
- Assisting the logistic department for Procurement process of IT equipment (Participating RFQ process) when needed.
- Flexibility on additional tasks required by programme needs
- Technical IT Support to Partners (Laptop/Printer/Scanner maintenance and troubleshooting) when needed.
- Perform any other assignment by management.

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree of Computer Science or any graduate with relevant certificates.
- Minimum 3-4 years in IT Support Role.
- Must have experienced on Azure AD Administration, Office 365 and End Point Solutions.
- Must have ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks.
- Skills in inventory maintenance.
- Negotiation skills.
- Must have a good written and verbal communication skill in English.
- Able to work with flexibility and extended time if necessary.
- Integrity and transparency and honest.
- Communicates to others with dignity and respect.
