Junior Architect

Purpose of assignment

The assignment aim to hire a qualified Junior architect for assisting the project’s team in developing the needed documentation and design works of Dar Al Consul civic center. The scope of work includes the ground floor (area) and the mezzanine floor (area), upper courtyards (area) and residential units (area).

TASKS / EXPECTED OUTPUTS

The Junior Architect will be responsible for the specified outputs under the following tasks:  

• Prepare a weekly workplan that correlates with the projects’ general planning & actions
• Prepare monthly architectural progress reports
• Work on developing needed architectural design drawings/details & documentations
• Update the existing plans according to the site new findings on monthly basis minimum or when is needed
• Prepare detailed sections and elevations for existing & proposed design
• Coordinate with the structural, electrical and mechanical engineers for design inputs/outputs and needs
• Levels’ measurements for the site ; provide the new levels according to the needed construction and finishing works
• Quality control for the implemented designs
• Provide the project manager with any technical or design request to ensure project is implemented to the best possible standards
• Lead the activity of model making for the selected site and coordinate with the available teams
• Desktop research & case studies for selected projects similar to the assigned project’s theme
• Assist the project manager in any of the requests as per the project’s needs

EVALUATION

A committee towards a short-list will evaluate applicants; afterwards the shortlisted will go through an interview process and/or technical test for determining the finalist.

1. Portfolio:- Documented working experience for architectural work specially in historical/adaptive reuse buildings
2. Quality of Presented Portfolio /CV (10 points)
3. Travel access to Jerusalem (YES/NO)
4. Attached References (YES/NO)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Architectural engineering from accredited university
• Proven experience of minimum 3 years in the architectural field with a one year experience in historical renovation projects
• Proven creative design skills for designing in architecture with preferable designs in historical and reused buildings
• Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with Architectural software ( Autocad , 3DMAX or other 3D rendering programs)
• Excellent command of English and Arabic

• Portfolio for his/her projects’ design process, presentation and 3Ds
