“EU Support for the TVET System in Palestine”
The new EU programme builds on the experiences, the results and best practices of the two preceding EU funded programmes implemented by GIZ in West Bank and Gaza Strip. The programme is aiming at improving the quality and relevance of training provision at initial and continuing vocational training to meet the needs of the private sector and the community, and to enhance the institutional capacity of the TVET institutional framework and of World of Work (stakeholders), for a more efficient functioning of TVET system. The implementing bodies at the local level are therefore the Local Employment and Training Councils (LETCs), previously established with the support of GIZ. In order to support the EU Programme Team at Ramallah – GIZ Programme House and in all Governorates, we are looking for a
„Junior Technical Officer“
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-liaise between the programme manager, the Local Employment and Training Councils LETCs and partner institutions
-assist in preparing and implementing promotion campaign on program disposition, objectives and intentions
-under the supervision of the programme manager, contribute to drafting and reviewing of guidelines for the project selection cycles with LETC Technical Committees
-participate in monitoring and follow up the implementation of partnership projects in cooperation with the LETC Technical Committees
-organise and take part in meetings, workshops and trainings as required by the programme manager, LETCs and project partners, take the minutes and prepare the needed documents
-Join and facilitate the work of short term national and international experts
-contribute to planning, design and implementation of new or follow-on activities
-coordinate with technical teams of partner institutions and undertake and document field visits to partnership projects in all governorates of the West Bank
-provide input to regular reporting and documentation of programme activities to the EU
-support programme manager in management and administrative tasks
Required qualifications:
-University degree BA in political science, education, international relations or related fields.
-Good experience in TVET sector.
-Fluent in English and Arabic (oral and written).
-Excellent computer and communication skills.
-Flexible to move and travel in local areas of partnership projects and related activities
-Able to work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds, service oriented, friendly personality, well organised and motivated
Assignment: Starting as of 1st Jan 2016.
