Solicitation of Professional Services
The Modernizing Financial Institutions project (MFI), a program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is assisting the Palestinian Authority in the development of its financial regulatory bodies to meet regional and international standards Our immediate efforts are directed toward building legal, regulatory and technical framework programs that will assure that the Palestinian Authority has the capacity to analyze and investigate a wide-scope of financial transactions and assist authorities in the enforcement of its financial laws. Currently, we are soliciting qualified individuals or firms to provide translation and website development professional services. These services will be performed in Ramallah, West Bank, or in such other locations as may be determined by the MFI Projects. The services will be utilized in assisting the project in its activities with Palestinian government agencies and other counterparts.

-Provide high quality professional editing in both Arabic and English so that the content of the message remains consistent
Skills Required
-Editing from English to Arabic and from Arabic to English should be done according to the following steps:
-Step 1 — Assessment and substantive edit
Before starting work on a document, the editor should look at how it is laid out; for example, he should check how headings and subheadings are used, whether there are footers and headers, and whether a consistent system has been used for references. We also assess the overall structure of the document, checking that the material is presented in a logical manner, and that it is appropriate for the intended audience.
-Step 2 — Copyedit
Once the content has been finalized, the contractor as a the next stage is a copyedit. The aim at this stage is to ensure that the document is grammatically correct and that the style (the use of capital letters, spelling and punctuation) is correct and consistent. After copyediting, the document is ready for layout or graphic design.
-Step 3 — Proofread
Before the document is printed or published, the contractor should proofread the designed draft, to ensure that the final text is free of any typographical errors or inconsistencies in style or presentation. We also ensure that the document is complete, including (as appropriate) preliminary pages, summary, text, tables, glossary, references and appendixes, and check the final pagination and table of contents
The services which are the subject of this soliciation will be very challenging, requiring attention to details, very strong organizational skills, the ability to conduct multiple activities at the same time, and a willingness to work in evenings and on weekends when needed. These positions require fluent spoken and written Arabic, as well as very strong written and spoken English.
