Palestine Technical Colleges / Arroub has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF)- Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Funded by the World Bank and EC, to implement the project of Media Technology Program and intends to apply part of this grant for selection and employment of highly qualified Consultants who have experience in Media Technical and Arts skills.
Assignment Objective:
Palestine Technical Colleges /Arroub is considering the selection of highly qualified Consultants (1 persons) to be part of the small core staff responsible for training technical staff in terms the technical and Art on the subjects detailed in Duties and Responsibilities of the Media Technology Department as part of the implementation of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Give practical training on Linux Essentials:
- Running Commands and Getting Help
- Browsing the Filesystem
- Users, Groups and Permissions
- Standard I/O and Pipes
- Using the bash Shell
-Text Processing Tools
- Basic System Configuration Tools
- Users, Groups and Permissions
- System Administration Tools
Red Hat Linux System Administration
- Package Management
- System Initialization
- Kernel Services
- System Services
- Filesystem Management, User Administration
- Network Configuration
- Installation
- Virtualization with Xen
- Troubleshooting
Red Hat Linux Networking
- Network Resource Access Controls
- Organizing Networked Systems
- Network File Sharing Services

- Electronic Mail Services

Deliverables
- Training course layout and outline at the beginning of the training
- Completion of 80 training hours in the field of the assignment
- Final report including training materials soft and hard copy, obstacles met, lessons learned, trainees evaluation, attendance sheet, and conclusions and recommendation
-Full installation with full access and web email possibilities of Redhat Linux on server and connected to all college workstation (Pc’s)
Essential Required Qualifications, Skills, knowledge and Competencies:
- Candidates for this position should hold a certificate in one the flowing areas
    - Computer Science
    - Computer Engineering
    - Networks and Information Technology
- Bachelor degree in media specialization or any other related field with at least 5 years experience or Diploma with 10 years experience
- Knowledge of English language is a plus
- Working in the training field is a plus
Place of work:
Hosted in Palestine Technical Colleges /Arroub and will be supervised by the Project Cocoordinator
Time Frame:
The duration of the assignment is 1 month from August 20th 2009 – September 20th 2009
