Local Short Term TVET Expert

Islamic Relief Palestine (IRPAL), in partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is responsible for the implementation of a new TVET/LM project entitled Enhancing Youth Employability in the Gaza Strip. The overall goal of the Enhancing Youth Employability (EYE) project is to improve youth employability in the Gaza Strip while, at the same time, improving the overall TVET system in the Gaza Strip.

IRPAL is seeking a qualified and experienced Local Short Term TVET Expert within the following conditions:

Position: Local Short Term TVET Expert to assist International TVET Expert to conduct a Review of the Palestinian National TVET Strategy and to prepare a TVET Strategy Implementation Plan for the Gaza Strip

Work Location: Based in Gaza Strip

Duration: 50 working days divided into two 20-day missions. The first mission will take place during February and March 2014. The exact dates for the second mission will be agreed during the first mission but will, in any event, be completed by end ofJune 2014.


Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
-Minimum of a Bachelor degree in education, human resource management/development, vocational/technical education or related discipline
-At least 5 years of experience within a national TVET institution
-Good expertise and experience in strategic planning
-Have experience in the use of a range of strategic planning tools including SWOT Analysis
-Familiar with the basics of developing National Qualification Frameworks, TVET Curricula, TVET institutional development and capacity building, Quality Assurance, and Labour Market initiatives
-Be experienced in communicating successfully with International experts and senior national policy makers in the TVET Sector
-Have a high level of proficiency/fluency in spoken and written English.
-Be computer literate
-Have good organisational, report writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
