Position: Logistic officer/Driver

Project Title: “Makani. Rebuilding safe education facilities, inclusive learning opportunities and the psychosocial well-being of children in Northern Gaza” funded by OCHA

Organization: VdT - Vento di Terra NGO

Location: Gaza Strip

Starting date: 5th September, 2021

Duration of the contract: 6 months

This position is an assignment to support the implementation of the project: “Makani. Rebuilding education facilities, inclusive learning opportunities and the psychosocial well-being of children in Northern Gaza” funded by OCHA.

Duties & Responsibilities

Working closely with all the actors involved in the project, the Logistic officer/Driver will have the following key duties and responsibilities.

Logistic support to the Project Manager and VDT staff in the implementation of the project activities;
Dealing with the providers and preparing all the necessary supporting documents in purchasing goods and materials as well as implementation of works, in line with vdt and donor procedures;
To supervise the maintenance of the car of the project guaranteed by the rent company and the validity, according to the local procedures and rules, of all the documents needed in the car;
To keep the car clean and in good conditions and to accompany the staff of the project according to the schedule of the movements;
To provide support to the Project Manager and local VDT staff in bureaucratic and secretarial functions such as: archiving, scanning, stamping documents, etc.;
To apply VdT security guidelines and specific instructions related to the movements;
To keep a high level of cooperation and coordination with VdT local and international staff;

Security

Daily check of the conditions of security in the area referring to the Project Manager and VDT staff problems/risks in the target area;
To be the project focal point in the Gaza Strip for the security issues and to refer to the Project Manager;
Support in dealing with applications to Gaza MOI for the residency procedure;
Deal with applications for the permits of the local and expatriate personnel to enter and exit Gaza Strip;
Comply with the security protocol agreed with VdT Italia and with the donor of the project.

Ethic

The Logistic officer/Driver acts in accordance with Vento di Terra NGO principles and values.

The Logistic officer/Driver is aware that any act or activity undertaken in conflict with VdT principles and value will lead to the break of the contract.

The Logistic officer/Driver agrees that all the materials and the documentation produced in the framework of the action is to be considered as VdT’s property, any other use, not related to the implementation of the action or not authorized by Vento di Terra NGO, is prohibited.

The Logistic officer/Driver is aware that all the information and documentation of which he or she becomes aware in the course of performing his or her duties are considered extremely confidential and private and in no way may they be disclosed to third parties, including the work plan and staff movements.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Essential requirements

Driving license;
Previous experience of at least 5 years in the sector of the International Cooperation/Humanitarian Aid as logistic officer-driver;
Previous experience in areas of crisis and emergency;
Good Knowledge of the OCHA procurement procedures;
Ability in multitasking and in working under stressful conditions;
Good team working skills;
Good knowledge of the English language (oral and written).

Preferred requirements

- Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
