Position : Logistics and administrative assistant Reporting: Administrative Officer
Location : Gaza City Deadline for application : 2 of June 2009
Salary range : 4289-4928 NIS ac to exp
THE ORGANAIZTION
Handicap international is an international NGO specialising in the field of disability and post-emergency intervention.HI has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1996.
The association has implemented several projects,including providing technical support to referral centers for people with disabilities .The association is present in the Gaza Strip and supports activities to meet the needs of PWDs & improve their daily life (rehabiliation services,adaptation works on certain buildings..)These actions are performed in partnership with local Palestinian associations.
THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Administrative Officer,the logistics and administrative assistant ,based in Gaza,ensures that the day-to-day administrative .logistics,human resources and cash flow management procedures in Gaza are implemented and followed .He/She will ensure the smooth running of the office in coordinationwith the different services of the HI Gaza programme.
He/She Main tasks will include :
Logistics
1-Supply chain management (procurement,stock management,delivery monitoring)
equipment and fleet management ,movements and management of Driver
2- Rehabilitation and maintinance of HI premises,management of cleaner.
3-Security management (information collection,procedure to follow up )
4-Reporting (monthly logistics report,weekly security report and any additional reports as required )
Finance
1- Accountancy (preparation and filing of vouchers,accounts allocation and transmission to Jerusalem office)
2-Cash management (journals maintaining,forecasting and treasury requests,operating cash transfer)
3- Process for validating the commitment of expenditure (authorization,eligibilty check)
4-Budget management in link with the administrative officer in Jerusalem.
Administration
1-Organisation the work place
2-Management of contracts for the living and working premises.
Human resources
1- Make sure that the HI Human Resources framework,defined at Jerusalem office,is followed and respected.
2- Advices and explanation about the insurance polcy and social benefits.
3-Explanation on general HR framework at HI.
4- Draft work contracts or other HR documents as requested by the administrative officer.
Local Partners
1- Contracts ensure that validation chain is respected and assist the administrative officer in their drawn up.
2-inancial folow up,ensure the respected deadlines in advance opening and closing ,operate transfer and check eligiblity of the expensis
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
1-You will have a scholar background and substantial experience in logistics,administration and cash flow management.
2- You have a strong practical knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
3- You will have stong organizational skills,you will be diplomatic and process strong communication and interpersonal skills,You will be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups,you will be fluent in English (written and spoken ),and Arabic
APLUS: previous experience with an international NGOs
Initial contract will be a determined contract up to the 31 of May 2010
