Logistics Assistant
Role and responsibilities
The purpose of a Logistics assistant is to assist in the day to day implementation of the logistic function’s responsibility.
Specific responsibilities
- Handle purchases as per procedures and priorities, from purchase requisition up to payment request.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment.
- Scan logistics related documents and file as per filing requirements.
- Update vendor list and market prices..
- Follow up on all purchase documentation such as purchase requests, requests for quotations, bid Analysis, contracts, purchase orders are appropriately signed by authorized staff.
- Conduct market surveys as needed and provide estimated prices to Programs/Support.
- Occasionally travel to the field to offer support and guidance on matters of procurement.
- Ensure payment requests are submitted to Finance on time and tracked appropriately.

Generic professional competencies:
- Basic experience from working as a function officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Some knowledge in English, both written and verbal
- Fluent in Arabic, both written and verbal
