Program Summary:
Project HOPE is providing humanitarian assistance to the conflict-affected population in Gaza. The current response portfolio focuses on Health, Mental Health, Protection, and WASH programming through Project HOPE programs and local partnerships.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Logistics Assistant- Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment for all occupants. This role involves performing routine maintenance, responding to repair requests, and collaborating with external contractors for specialized tasks. In addition, this role requires ensuring the office environment is safe and efficient, and supporting logistics department with day-to-day operations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, and other building systems.
- Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
Repair and Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to repair requests and perform necessary repairs on building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Logistics Support:
- Follow up generator’s operation, maintenance, and fuel filling for all facilities.
- Assist in the setup and arrangement of office spaces for meetings, events, and daily operations.
Facilities Management:
- Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the premises, including common areas, meeting rooms, and offices.
- Monitor and manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper functioning.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Support in paper works for requesting all needed purchases related to maintenance activities.
- Prepare monthly fuel consumption report for facilities’ generators and running hours.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair tasks.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Proven experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems maintenance.
Skills:
- Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Technical skills in renovations works.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with safety protocols and procedures.
- Valid driving license.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are preferred.

Work environment:
- This position is based in Gaza. Given the current conflict conditions, candidate must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- The role may involve working outside regular business hours to address urgent maintenance issues.
