Position Overview:
In response to the recent crisis in Gaza, Anera is expanding its logistics team. We are seeking a Logistics Officer to manage and coordinate logistics operations essential to our emergency response. This role includes overseeing shipments from all corridors (the West Bank, Ashdod, and Jordan, and collaborating with main stakeholders in this field to streamline processes and ensure effective aid distribution.

Scope of Work
Key Responsibilities:
1- Coordination with WFP and Log Cluster (LC) Teams
- Manage West Bank, Ashdod, and Jordan shipments, coordinating closely with WFP and LC teams.
- Oversee required documentation for each shipment, including SRFs, waybills, and tracking sheets.
2- Shipment Tracking and Documentation
- Track and update the movement of trucks and shipments, maintaining timely and accurate information on schedules, routes, and driver assignments.
- Maintain a clear pipeline tracker for all corridors, updating the LC team and ensuring donor transparency.
- Regularly attend LC meetings to stay aligned with current logistics activities and priorities.
3- Inventory and Documentation Management
- Coordinate with the Gaza team to reconcile shipment documentation and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Track inventory updates, promptly flagging any discrepancies to the logistics lead for resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date, detailed records of all goods distribution activities, compiling reports for donor organizations.
4- Reporting and Pipeline Management
- Submit regular pipeline updates to the LC team, ensuring records are current and aligned with donation timelines.
- Provide consistent updates to senior management on logistics progress, challenges, and efficiencies.
5- Stakeholder Communication
- Ensure open, effective communication with all relevant stakeholders, keeping them informed on shipment statuses and potential delays.
- Share insights on cost-effective, efficient routing options considering logistical, regulatory, and cost factors.
6- Logistics Support Operations
- Plan and coordinate logistics support operations for Gaza emergency activities, prioritizing shipments based on urgency and deadlines.
- Follow communications and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
7- Process Improvement and Compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline logistics and inventory processes, making recommendations for improved accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure alignment with reporting standards, documenting all goods distribution activities transparently and accurately for audits.
8- Additional Responsibilities
- Prioritize and organize tasks based on deadlines, ensuring timely completion of logistics and administrative duties.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards across all logistics activities.
Qualifications and Expertise:
- University degree in logistics and procurement management or equivalent in a related field of study. Prior experience managing logistics in a humanitarian crisis.
- At least three (3) years work experience in a similar position within the logistics field
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking, and interpersonal communication
- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Fluency in English and Arabic, written and oral.
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
- Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within humanitarian or development organizations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, maintaining documentation, and reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented inventory management skills
- Ability to use computers, software, and other technology for inventory and communication purposes. Demonstrated intermediate ability to utilize the Google Suite including Sheets
- Understanding of the logistics, including common obstacles and effective solutions
