Manager of School-Community Partnerships
AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with
offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting for a Manager of
School-Community Partnerships. The selected candidate will work to boost parent and community
engagement in local schools. The position will assist schools to develop relationships with parents and
community groups to improve learning and student development in marginalized communities.
Responsibilities: The Manager of School-Community Partnerships will provide intellectual, technical
and managerial leadership to AMIDEAST’s school-community programs.
The essential functions of the position include:
-Works with the senior leadership team to develop a parent-community engagement strategic plan;
-Mentors school leadership to develop skills that foster parent and community engagement in
schools;
-Cultivates partnerships within local community organizations;
-Plans school-level parent- and community-related activities in coordination with school leadership;
-Assists schools in providing parent skills workshops that support the academic and developmental needs of their children;
-Provides support with compliance by tracking parent and community participation data;
-Assists with education policy and advocacy activities;
-Assists with the planning and implementation of trainings and meetings for parents and community stakeholders;
-Supports schools in the creation and dissemination of information on school life to parents through newsletters and social media;
-Provides enrollment and outreach support for schools;
-Works with schools, families and communities to address the educational needs of vulnerable children; and
-Supports the creation and activation of PTAs in schools.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, sociology or similar social science.
Master’s preferred.
-At least 10 years of practical working experience in schools, community institutions or youth
organizations
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and manage junior staff.
-Ability to work well in a team and enhance cooperative relationships, in the AMIDEAST office, with partners and with schools and communities.
-Knowledge of and experience with schools, families, and/or youth
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Internet applications and social media
-Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and excellent spoken and written English.
